Mitchell now sets sights on landing dream Bryan Mbeumo move for Newcastle
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

After a summer transfer window that was marked by missed opportunities, Newcastle United’s sporting director Paul Mitchell is already looking ahead to the next wave of signings. With the likes of Antoine Semenyo and Fikayo Tomori reportedly being lined up for potential moves to St James’ Park, it’s clear that the Magpies are determined to bolster their squad.

The arrival of Tomori, in particular, could be a shrewd piece of business. The AC Milan defender has unfinished business in the Premier League, having left Chelsea for San Siro in 2022. With Newcastle’s struggles in their backline, it’s easy to see why Tomori would be an attractive target. The 25-year-old’s performance in the Premier League will be key to determining the success of this potential move.

However, it’s not just the defense that needs strengthening. Newcastle’s attacking issues have been well-documented, with the team going four games without a goal from open play. It’s little surprise that Mbeumo, who has started the season in blistering form, is being linked with a move to Tyneside. The 25-year-old’s electric pace and skill have made him a nightmare for opposition defenders, and he would undoubtedly provide a much-needed boost to Newcastle’s attack.

The combination of Mbeumo and Alexander Isak could be a potent one, with the latter struggling for form so far this season. Mbeumo’s ability to elevate Isak’s game would be a major coup for Newcastle, and it’s clear that the Swede is in need of a goal-scorer’s instinct. With six goals in eight games this season, Mbeumo is exactly the kind of player who could help Isak rediscover his clinical finishing touch.

As the 2025 transfer window approaches, it’s easy to see why Mbeumo is being touted as Newcastle’s dream signing. With his pace, skill, and deadly finishing ability, he’s exactly the kind of player who could make all the difference for a struggling side like the Magpies. If reports of a £45,000-a-week deal are true, it’ll be a move that’s hard to ignore.
