Several terrorists entered the Adora settlement in the Hebron Highlands on the evening of Friday, January 12. An Israeli man, aged 34, was slightly wounded during the shooting: he was shot in the legs and remains conscious.

Large army forces and special police forces (YAMAM) were deployed to the scene of the terrorist attack to comb the area in search of terrorists.

The Home Front Service asked citizens to lock themselves in their homes or protected areas and not open windows. It is also recommended not to stand near windows and doors, even if they are closed. “It is prohibited to leave the premises until this order is lifted. Movement in the area is prohibited,” the Home Front Service added.

The version that the shooting took place along the fence and not inside the settlement is being verified. The army opened fire on a patrol that was circling the borders of Adora. Witnesses reported the sounds of machine gun fire and gunfire.

After some time, information was received about the liquidation of three terrorists in the area of the industrial zone located near the settlement of Adora. Knives, an ax, Molotov cocktails and firearms were found in their belongings. This indicates an intention to carry out a terrorist attack in the spirit of the October 7 Hamas massacre in Otef-Aza. According to the army, the prompt response of the soldiers prevented a major and brutal terrorist attack.

The settlement of Adora is located in the southern part of the Judean Mountains in the Hebron Highlands. It was founded in 1984 and belongs to the regional council of Har Hebron (District of Judea and Samaria). In 2020, the population of the settlement was 462 people.
